Mark Portrait, founder of the Snapshot Group in Jacksonville OR, leads a team of talented artists, designers, copywriters and coders. The shop is nestled in the foothills of Southern Oregon and specializes in marketing and interactive services for national B2B and B2C clients. He lives in Jacksonville with his beautiful wife Ellen and overweight English bulldogs Astro and Angus
Born in the UK, Mark immigrated with his family to the San Francisco Bay Area in the late ’50’s. Raised in a retail family furniture business he cut his teeth in business around a dinner table populated with street smart merchants. There was always something to learn and occasionally an opportunity to speak. After serving a lengthy apprenticeship in the family chain of furniture stores, Mark set out with his wife and two sons for the Pacific Northwest to continue his career in retail management. Stops in Eugene, Vancouver and Medford included senior management positions leading chain retail sales and marketing efforts in the furniture, home appliance and consumer electronics industries. A successful launch into the ad agency biz in 1990 led to great friendships, talented coworkers and smart clients.
